Why Small Groups?
When he founded the Methodist Church in the 18th Century England, John Wesley assembled small groups to reach out, offer support, and provide accountability and religious instruction to one another. This practice continues today in United Methodist Churches worldwide and is an integral part of the mission here at Trinity United Methodist Church.
Small Groups are the foundation of Methodism.
Small Groups at Trinity UMC are comnprised of eight to ten people who meet regularly to support one another's spiritual growth. These small groups of men, women, and students are among our church's fastest-growing ministries and have become the most popular way for people to bring their faith to life. Although each group adopts it's own personality and selects it's most convenient time to meet, all groups offer regular study, prayer, accountability, and lasting fellowship. Trinity's small groups, Bible studies, and spiritual growth classes and activities offer the same opportunities as the first groups founded by John Wesley for those who seek to live in right relationship with God and others.
