Good Evening,
Today is hump day for our missions trip. We have completed half of our work and we are looking downhill at our jobs. Today we split into three work crews with Albert and Vickki leading a group to begin a new project that involves a house that leaks when it rains. Everett's group was able to get a handle on their project today with the codes worked out and a plan to move forward. Their project includes replacing the decking on the proch along with supporting and replacing the 2x6's. The problem they were having had to deal with the supports to the porch roof that had to be jacked up to put them into the correct position. Everett has told me they made good progress today and expect to be done on Friday. My team is working on the three story home that is being painted with e porch replacement. Today we finished most of the painting and we have completed the construction of the porch. We still have to finsh leveling the the steps, paint the porch and install the hand rails. Mary, the woman we are helping is 90 years old and she had her doubts about us when we first showed up. She told me today that she was so happy with the work we've done that she had to go over to get her neighbor and show off her new porch. Albert's group today began a new project which includes scraping a houe to get ready for paint and trouble shoot the water leakage in the home. THe pulled a bird's nest out of the home today that filled a garbage bag. This evening one of the interns, Madilyn gave a mini ukilele concert for our group that was outstanding. We are staying at the mission tonight and relaxing because our group is exhausted. I share the comments to the group when you leave them so feel free to be a participant. Thank you for the prayers.
